Just when all is going well, in what seems a blink of a moment, the rug of life gets completely pulled off from underneath us. In the midst of it all perhaps, in the name of new beginnings, in a place far away that we now call home, hundreds of miles away from the comfort of the life we knew and had.

In the same breath, the kids are suddenly teens…well, it feels quite sudden, and prefer to spend most of their time alone or with friends online. There are no more impromptu trips to the playground and exploring new places. In this new land and new life, we now need to re-navigate finding ourselves, whatever that looks like nowadays.

On the other side of life, the income and expenses are beginning to take an unfavourable skew, savings are dwindling and the times between pay feels like days so very longed for. Albeit the overwhelm, feeling of uncertainty and hopes the money stretches enough between pay days.

In these challenges, both expected and unexpected, testing our resilience and faith, that a lovely cup of brew brings the most absolute joy. Nicely brewed to our perfection, Well! the only one thing we can still keep perfect. The warmth of the mug clasp with both hands and as illogical as it may be, the many one moment that we finally get to take a breath from it all. A warmth that magically creates a sense of trust that the universe is watching over us after all.  A moment we get to say Thank Goodness, for a cuppa!

Precisely in those moments of solitude, there lies a shimmer of faith. Whether it’s through prayer, meditation, or simply surrendering, in those moments of solitude, we see a glimpse of faith that all will be well in the end. When we finally leaned against the units or sat down with that brew, came a clear embrace. A small yet profound shift inside that enables us to appreciate the blessings that surround us, whether it’s the love of family and friends, the beauty of nature, or the simple joys of everyday life.

A moment we begin to feel that better days lie ahead and we will live another day to enjoy the beauty, respite and breath with a good brew.
